What is Nokia DAB Radio?

Software>> DAB digital radio offers a much clearer reception than the regular radio player that comes with your device, less interference and better sound quality than traditional analogue radio and has proven a great success in the UK and in other European countries. The device also supports the emerging DAB+ standard, which uses a more efficient audio codec.
Radio software on your mobile device allows you to choose and save stations, shows artist and track information and will show pictures when offered by the broadcaster. Using a feature called Smart Tuning, it automatically chooses the clearest reception in cases where your chosen station exists on alternative frequencies.
Hardware>>The adapter works automatically when you plug it into the micro-USB port on the Nokia C7 or Nokia N8 and comes with ergonomic, in-ear headphones – it can also be used with your own headphones provided they have a 3.5mm jack. The device also offers call-handling, channel and volume controls. The adapter weighs 30.5g and measures 55 x 23 x 14.5mm.

PR1.1 for C7 released

Nokia C7 got PR1.1 yesterday.

No official changelog is available. But users have reported :
1. Faster ui
2. Faster transition effects
3. Landscape dialer
4. Faster email with new icon
5. Slight improvement in speaker performance

The update is 6.7 mb in size.
Major disappointments :
1. No improved browser
2. No portrait qwerty
3. Display tint issue is still there

Software update for Nokia N8

New software update, which is not a firmware update, for the Nokia N8 and nay other Symbian^3 device, called Videos, with which we can add subtitles in our videos. The update has a size of 1217 Kb.

This update is included in the videos and allows addf subtitles to our mobile videos and get a range of additional to many others features with this update. Currently Supported subtitle file formats are SRT and SUB. The update has a size of 1217 Kb

Download from the application menu, selecting Software Update.

Nokia N8 firmware released !!!

Nokia has released the firmware pr1.1. It is not yet available over the air but can be downloaded via navifirm.

This is only for expert users who cant wait for fully cooked firmware. This is for testing only. Please backup all your data as installing it erases the mass memory. However presence this test firmware confirms that actual firmware is coming very soon.
Update : After installing the date on phone changes to 16th Jan. Maybe it is the date when the firmware will be available OTA.
