N8 - the latest imaging flagship from Nokia has attracted a lot of people worldwide with its 12 megapixel camera . But it also boasts a 28 mm wide angle lens with Carl-Zeiss optics. I have written this article for those who don't know about wide angle lens and how to use them to get better photos.
Wide angle lens means you can fit more area into your photo from the same distance. A 28mm lens can fit approx. 20% more area into a photograph than a normal 35mm lens. See below

Wide angle lenses are very useful for taking group photographs in parties or situations where you cant move very far from the subject. The wide angle also produces stunning landscape images.
However it becomes difficult to take macro shots with wide angle lenses. To overcome zoom a bit while going for macro shots from N8 (or N86)
