N8/C7 display problem updated

Is your N8 from the second batch? It might be having issues with the display... like this one (left - faulty, right - normal)



buxz from Nokiausers did some research and found out that users may not be noticing it as it shows mainly on some themes and not others so much here ill list the best ways to see it

  • TEST 1 : use midnight silver theme -- make sure you have analogue screen saver clock -- make sure brightness is down ---flick lock switch -- when screen is locked press menu key to bring up the clock 
  • TEST 2download the picture below.  adjust the display brightness to lowestIf it shows purple tint please let us know

  • TEST 3Download the image below to your mobile.

 Lower the brightness to minimum and see
(left - faulty, right - normal)


  • TEST 4using midnight silver theme -- download qt torch -- open it up -- the background will look a dark brown/purple -- keep your eyes on the two touch buttons at bottom of screen -- press torch button -- as screen gets brighter watch the two touch buttons go from a greyish purple to the black they are supposed to be as if by magic 
  • TEST 5there are many more methods of seeing it like watching the tron trailer and watching the blacks mix to a purple hue and many more
