Protect Your Contacts with Google Sync

I have tried out many ways to synchronize the contacts on my phone with Google Contacts. I have read on various forums on the internet about synchronizing using the mail for exchange and Goosync methods. But there is a very simple way using the native Sync application. It is easy to setup and use

1. Go to Settings > Connectivity > Data Transfer > Sync
2. Go to Options > New sync profile
3. Profile Name - Google Sync
4. Server Version - 1.2
5. Apps in sync - Only mark contacts, not anything else
6. Contact Database - "contacts" (without quotes)
7. Data Bearer : Internet
8. Host address : https://m.google.com/syncml
9. Server ID : (leave blank)
10. Username : (your Google account username)
11. Password : (your Google account password)

And you are done !!! 

Go to contacts > Options > Synchronization >Start and select Google Sync. Your contacts will be backed up on your Google contacts account.
